ELT service — frequently asked questions

How often should my ELT be tested?
Per EASA / ICAO requirements the 406 MHz ELT must be tested periodically — typically every 12 months for functionality and after battery replacement. Programming must be re-verified whenever the ELT is recoded to a new aircraft registration.
Do I need to remove the ELT from the aircraft?
For programming and battery replacement we usually need the unit at our Part-145 facility. After booking we send DPD pickup instructions so you can ship the unit safely.
How long does the service take?
Standard turnaround is 5–10 business days from receipt. Express (48h) is available on request.
Is the battery included in the price?
Battery replacement includes the new battery pack from the ELT maker, fitting, a functional test and the EASA Form 1. If you also need the ELT programmed, programming is included at no extra cost. If a test or programming job shows the battery is below limit, we send you a quote before replacing it.
Do you issue an EASA Form 1?
Yes — every ELT service is released with an EASA Form 1 (or dual-release on request) confirming airworthiness.
How does shipping work?
After ordering you receive DPD pickup instructions. Pack the unit securely — you do not need to wait for a box from us.
